Background

I have a degree in computer engineering from the Universidad de Granada. I have worked as system manager at the Instituto Mediterraneo de Estudios Avanzados (CSIC-UIB) but also as a software engineer developing scientific tools for data sharing and publishing. Since 2007 I have been working in the “e-CA Project” (e-Ciencia Andaluza, Spanish for Andalusian e-Science) as the technical responsible of the e-CA Grid node, being the technical contact with the Spanish e-Science Network, and developing collaborative tools for scientists. I have been involved in the installation and configuration of the Instituto de Astrofisica de Andalucia GRID-CSIC node on the NGI-ES infrastructure and migrating astrophysics applications to the Grid.

At present, I am working on the development of Virtual Observatory archives and radioastronomical analysis tools and services in the context of a collaboration between the AMIGA group and the Kapteyn Astronomical Institute in order to modernize and improve the Groningen Image Processing System (GIPSY).
